ITINERARY DAY BY DAY     

The order of visits may be modified depending on local conditions and weather issues. Accommodation may vary based on availability

DAY 1  -  Check-in at your hotel

Complementary transfer from the airport or the train station to your hotel upon your arrival | After a short private transfer, check-in for 4 nights and relax at the hotel with a glass of wine aperitif while you meet with your local driver guide and go over your itinerary for the next days | Your hotel is ideally located in downtown's historical district, around the corner from the main shopping streets and restaurants | You'll find it easy to get around and you'll be able to pick the restaurant of your choice for dinner.

DAY 2  - Strolling the Magical Streets of Bordeaux

Set out for a morning tour of Bordeaux and its historic UNESCO World Heritage-listed city center. Let your driver guide introduce you to the historical & cultural highlights of the old city | Discover the beautiful Place des Quinconces, with its ornate fountains and 175-foot Column of the Girondins |See the 18th century Grand Theater, the Saint-Andrew Cathedral with its massive skyline-topping 15th century bell tower | Stop for the local canelés goodies, traditionally baked in copper molds | Explore Bordeaux riverbanks, the Chartrons district, a super chic neighborhood also known as the Wine Merchant district | End the tour at Gates of the Old city |Then taste Bordeaux Grand Cru wines at one of the local wine-bars | The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy |Bordeaux is second only to Paris as far as the highest number of preserved historical buildings in France, so there's never a lack of things to discover | You may chose to visit the amazing Cité des Vins or to sip a glass of hot wine at the main Christmas market. 

DAY 3 - Into The Vineyards, SAINT EMILION

Depart for a full day private tour of  World Heritage site of Saint-Emilion and world's most well known wine destination | Travel through time and take in views of the grapevine-laden land, superb routes, noble chateaux and world famous vineyards as they appear majestically in the horizon | Take a private tour and tasting of one of Saint-Emillion 's Grand Cru Winery | Walk though the vineyards, see the vat room, the cellar, the old wine collection, and the unique 13th century underground quarries |Taste four of the estate's wines | Stop for a fabulous lunch highlighting  the region's bounty and paired with delicious wines and amazing views of vineyards from the rooftop winery's  terrace | take a walking tour through the medieval village of Saint-emillion beloved for its extraordinary cathedral and and learn of the underground monuments hidden below street level | In the afternoon, continue with another private visit at a family-run Top Growth Château (Grand Cru Classé) with an emphasis on organic viticulture on clay and gravely soils, followed by a tasting of the vineyard's 3 best vintage wines | Return to Bordeaux at the end of the day.

DAY 4- Explore the MÉDOC 

Take the scenic Route des Châteaux through the famous Mé doc wine region, particularly renowned for producing some of the world’s most famous wines such as Chateau Margaux or Chateau Pichon Longueville |A mere half hour from the city of Bordeaux, find yourself in the midst of the vineyards and wineries of the Medoc, a formerly swampy area, converted by Dutch traders for wine production in the 17th century | In the world famous village of Margaux, our driver-guide takes you on a private visit & tasting at a Top Growth Château (Grand Cru Classé) |The tour includes a visit of this 19th century domain, followed by a technical tour and a tasting of the 2 wines produced by the Chateau |The next private visit is your chance to make your own Bordeaux Blend with the expert advice of the Chateau Ferriere's winemaker and learn about the craft they have refined over centuries | Lunch is included at a typical restaurant in the heart of Pauillac or Saint-Julien with local dishes, and a large selection of wines by bottle or by glass | In the afternoon, be amazed again when visiting a Family-run Top Growth Château (Grand Cru Classé) where you will be welcome by the owner for a private tour & tasting of 4 wines | The day could not conclude on a better note.

DAY 5 - The voyage ends after breakfast today!

Enjoy the last moments of your vacation in Bordeaux, before heading to the airport for your flight home. Your complementary transfer to airport will depart at a time that fits your flight's departure time| Please inform us of your flight information as soon as you have made the arrangements

Booking

Your booking is valid once we have received your payment in full.  Prices are PER PERSON.

Car Rental

A Car rental is provided for our Self-Drive tours only, as an option for our participants arriving by plane or train.

Occupancy

Our prices are meant per person, in a double occupancy room (with one large bed known as "double bed" or 2 beds known as "twin beds"). For solo travelers or parties of 3 or more persons, please check the corresponding conditions.

Single supplement

The single occupancy supplement apply to solo travelers staying in a private room during a trip. French Incoming does not book solo travelers together in the same room unless these travelers have requested it. The single supplement is specified in the price segment.

Children's Discount

A children's discount apply to children that 16 years old or younger. Older kids are considered adults. The discount applies for children under the age of 16 years old staying in their parents' room. 

Infant bed

An infant bed may be provided by our hotel suppliers, but is not guaranteed. It is advisable that you bring your own folding infant bed if you travel with a very young baby. Otherwise, please let us know and we will do out utmost to provide on to you.

Travel documents

Your travel documents will be sent to you at least 5 days prior to the 1st day of your voyage with French Incoming.

Passport

Visitors from the Schengen area only need their National Identification Card to travel to France (though, passports work too). When travelling on a passport, it must be valid for at least 6 months AFTER your date of return.

Visa

Visitors from country outside of the Schengen Area are advised to ask the Foreign Affairs Department of their home country (or their country of residence) before booking their trip about whether they need a visa or not. Citizenship from countries that are part of the Visa Waiver Program, which can also be checked with the Foreign Affairs Department of their home country (or their country of residence), might not need a visa. 

Vaccinations

The World Health Organization recommends the following vaccinations for travelers to Western Europe: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid and rabies. These are common vaccines that most people have had during their childhood. If you think your vaccination has expired, please check with your doctor or health provider.

Currency, Money

Along with sixteen other countries in the European Union, France has been using the EURO as its official currency since 2002. All major credit cards are accepted in France, but some retailers and small business might not accept American Express cards. 

Quality standards

The standards of the hotels we use have been ranked and evaluated by independent auditors, as per Atout France guidelines. You can trust that a 3-star hotel in France will have the same standards as any other 3-star hotels in the country. Same with all other categories.

Airport transfer

Airport transfers may be provided by independent suppliers.

Electricity

Electricity in France runs on a 220-volt, 50-hertz AC current. France also uses a Type E plug (round pin and receptacle with male grounding pin). If you bring electrical appliances, you might need a plug adapter. You may also require a transformer, although today, most major appliances have one built in. When in doubt, check with the manufacturer.
